May 16th Concert
On May 16 the Sanctuary Choir of Haddon Heights First United Methodist Church and the Chancel Choir of the Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church presented a Choral Concert at our church. Dave Forman is director of music at Haddon Heights FUMC and Carol Holmes, Dave’s sister, is director at Ashland EPC. It was a joy having the two choirs combined, and I hope you enjoy this musical offering.

A baptism is always special, as we are dedicating a child of God to our care. Today we celebrated the baptism of Corinne Rose Stones.

Today is Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the church. The scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit came to a gathering of early believers with the sound of a rushing wind and tongues of fire, and they began to speak in other languages so that all present could understand them. The apostle Peter urged these early Christians to go and tell others about Jesus Christ, and 3000 people were baptized that day.

Happy Mother’s Day. As part of our service this morning, plants were given to all the women.
Next Sunday, May 16th, will be a special day in our church. At 3pm a choral concert will take place with the combined choirs of Haddon Heights United Methodist Church and Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill. Both choirs have spent many hours preparing for this event, and it promises to be a wonderful musical event.
